Vipolže

The village of Vipolže has an 11th Century Castle with a unique architecture in Slovenia.  The village nestles on the edge of the Goriška Brda region of Slovenia and the Furlania region of Italy, and is an excellent starting point to explore  both regions.  On the Italian side, the towns of Gorizia, Udine, Cormons, Cividale, and on the Slovene side Nova Gorica, Dobrovo,  the Soča Valley, Kanal, Tolmin, Kobarid and Bovec all provide architectural and natural beauty .  Other places that are slightly further away are Postojna cave which is about 50km, Ljubljana 115km, and Venice 120km.

The proximity of both the Julian Alps, and the Adriatic contribute to the climate, and to the fabulous local food and wines.
